3D printed PLA for multipurpose applications in chemistry and biology
Tuesday (18.06.2019) 20:24 - 20:25Polylactic acid can be processed easily by fused deposition modelling (FDM), a 3D printing method to obtain scaffolds with various shapes. Afterwards many applications are possible, e.g. as a bone replacement material when loaded with calcium phosphate, as a carrier for metal(II) ions or to immobilize molecules via clickreaction.
All of these applications require prior surface modification, which can be performed with common reaction techniques.
